DROUGHT RESISTANT SUMMER BARLEY
Innovation Type - treating the summer barley seed with a special watery substance (Fitostim) to increase its resistance to drought
Potential beneficiaries - growers, farm service centers, farm stores and other interested parties
WHY THE NEW FITOSTIM?
It is organic and is very profitable!
The presently used technique for increasing barley’s resistance to drought uses synthetic origin substances that are toxic and usually have a limited capacity to increase drought resistance abilities in grain crops. The proposed technique provides treating the barley seeds with a special aqueous solution before planting time. The special aqueous solution is obtained from dried and processed roots of the germinated grains (the substance is named Fitostim). As a result of this technique, the barley’s root system becomes stronger and consequently increases the overall yields.
ADVANTAGES
- Increasing the summer barley resistance to drought;
- Increasing barley’s productivity per hectare;
- Developing a bigger vegetative growth on barley plants;
- Enlarging barley’s root system.
