INCREASING VEGETABLE YIELDS
Innovation Type - technique
Potential beneficiaries - vegetable growers, farm service centers, farm stores and other interested parties
SUMMARY / SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
The proposed invention consists of treating seeds and plants with an aqueous solution of potassium galate and polyvinylpyrrolidone acid before planting and during blossoming period. The new technique increases plants resistance to drought, as well as reducing the pest affection rate on most plants.
The current technique of treating seeds and the leaves with an aqueous solution of indolilacetic acid is not satisfactory because the acid is not activated by plant’s enzymes.
ADVANTAGES
- Increase the vegetable yields by o.6-1 tone la hectare;
- Increase plants’ drought resistance abilities;
- Increase vegetable’s pest resistance rate by 5 –7 % compared to previously used methods and by 10 –15% compared to plants that did not receive any application.
