EFFICIENT PEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE
Innovation Type - technique
Potential beneficiaries - growers, farm service centers, farm stores and other interested parties
SUMMARY/SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS
Invention refers to IMP remedies and provides a special technique of obtaining liquid fungicide for plant application.
The widely known and used techniques do not ensure a long-lasting fungicide impact on the treated plants, that’s why they require a repeated application (several times per growing season) and leads to increased residue content in final products: fruit, vegetables, berries. The high content of applied chemicals can be harmful for humans, soil and the environment.
It is possible to avoid all these consequences through application of liquid fungicide. Invention prescribes eletro-chemical treatment of the sodium sulphate in the cathodic compartment of electrolytic device, and separating the catholyte and introduction of copper sulphate and iron sulphate solutions. The result consists of increasing the impact and the duration of the liquid fungicide application and in reducing the environmental consequences of pest management activities.
ADVANTAGES
- Increasing the impact of the liquid fungicide;
- Improving the environmental impacts as a result of reducing the toxic substances;
- Reducing the number of IPM applications by 2/3 times;
- Increasing the average fruit productivity by 12 –15 %;
- Increasing fruit quality by 10 %.
