Control device for the high-voltage power lock of constant voltage converter

Innovation Type - Product

Potential beneficiaries - Companies manufacturing power equipment

DESCRIPTION/ SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS

The new operation principle is described in invention, which allows to use the power elements (power locks – bipolar transistors) in the operation regime with extra currents.
Unlike the applied principles which imply the using of IBGT elements and MOFSET transistors, the proposed invention permits to reduce the cost of final product, especially on low power, by using the bipolar transistors.
Proposed invention makes it possible to maintain the “collector-emitter” voltage within the established limits of technical prescriptions for the concrete type of bipolar transistor. The principle is applied “the higher is a charge the higher is a base current”, i.e. the voltage drop “collector-emitter” is lower. By selecting the number of turns in the primary and secondary winding and the value of transistor base resistance, one can stabilize the „collector-emitter” voltage drop on higher currents than the maximal ones (stipulated in the technical description).

ADVANTAGES

  • Using of transistors at the last stage of invertor, which cost is lower than in case of standard scheme using
  • Parameters improvement – weight stipulated by the requirements specification

Current stage of development - Ready to be displayed – field tests

Where was applied - The laboratory tests were performed for more than four years; experimental lots containing 5-10 units were manufactured and testes in offices, houses, etc. Based on the test results, the corrections were introduced in technical documentation and the tests

Desired collaboration - Partnership
