“TEC-100”-type equipment for thermal-electric-chemical treatment is designated for the low carbon steel components reinforcement, by surface improvement and nitrogen or carbon diffusion with subsequent hardening. Technology and equipment for thermal-electric-chemical treatment is recommended for reinforcement of small dimensions components, tools, and technological industrial instruments.
The principle of thermal-electric-chemical treatment consists in heating of the component (anode) in electrolyte. Localization of power from the source within the component-anode zone results in the formation of gas-vapor cloud around the component-anode, and its heating up to the temperatures of 400-10000 C, which regulates the increase or decrease of the pressure applied to the component-anode. Evaporation of such elements as nitrogen and carbon into the plasma zone around the component-anode permits to improve the elements diffusion into the surface layer. The switching off the operating voltage permits to temper the component-anode in the same solution through the rapid condensation of plasma covering. Equipment allows performing the local thermal treatment, hardness distribution distribution on the surface and in cross-section, in dependence on the depth of modified layer.

ADVANTAGES

  • Reducing of treatment time compared to the traditional technology (several times). Thus, for the average carbon steel the treatment time makes 3-5 min, and for low carbon steel (nitro-cementation) – up to 12-15 min;
  • Local treatment by partial submersion;
  • Limited anodic dissolving results in the curving of sharp edges, rough edges treatment is not needed, and final polishing without essential modification of precision parameters;
  • Improvement of mechanical and anti-corrosion properties. Hardness limit for OLC45 steel of OLC40Cr steel is increased by 25-30%, resistance limit – by 110-120%;
  • Up to 2 times reducing of corrosion rate, 3-8 times decrease in wear intensity.
