Asynchronous generator with capacity excitation

Innovation Type - Product

Potential beneficiaries - Companies manufacturing the low capacity electric machines, manufacturers of hydraulic and wind equipment, complex equipment for transforming of power from the renewable sources into the electric power.

DESCRIPTION/ SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS

Invention relates to the creation of electric machines and can be used for design and production of asynchronous generators with capacity excitation for autonomous systems of power supply.
Innovation consists in that in the proposed generator the load current is a geometric difference between the currents in the main and additional windings. Under the stable voltage, the currents in the stator winding have constant value on the change of load current from zero to nominal value. In is important that the nominal value of load current 1,6 -1,7 times exceeds the current value in generator windings.

ADVANTAGES

  • Simple manufacturing, use of available asynchronous machines and usual technologies of asynchronous generators winding
  • Enhanced reliability of device and manufacturing cost reducing
  • Copper contents reducing per generator specific capacity (about 5-7%), efficiency increase
  • Stability of generator voltage under various wind velocity
  • Application of similar simple methods for manufacturing and maintenance of voltage stabilization systems.

Current stage of development - Available for display – field tests

Where was applied - Asynchronous generator was tested at wind equipment with vertical axe elaborated at the Institute of Power Engineering of Academy of Sciences of Moldova and the sample was manufactured by ASELTEH in 2005. Minimal capacity of equipment is 3kW

Desired collaboration - Partnership, investments
