Our new natural product is superiour to artificial colorants!

Innovation Type - Process

Potential beneficiaries - Food industries

WE PROPOSE A TYPE NEW OF RED COLORANT MADE OF THE BLACK CORN MEAL!

Currently there is no known similar process of natural red colorant preparation. That is why the imported colorants are used by the local food industry. The red concentrate proposed by our team was tested at a number of local companies and can be used in confectionery industry, preparation of light drinks, sausages, etc. An important feature of our product is that the colorant maintains its colour in any environment!
The red colorant proposed by us is manufactured from the black corn meal. The technological process implies the following operations:
- Collecting of the black corn plants during the milky-ripeness period; - Plants pounding and inserting into the stainless steel reservoirs; - Adding the acid solution and extraction of coloruring matter during 16-24 hours; - Separation of liquid part and repeating the extraction; - Unification of the extracts resulted from the first and the second extraction, vaccum concentration with the removal of the excessive acid. Packed concentrate has the shelf life of 12 months.

ADVANTAGES

  • Production technology is simple and easy to implement
  • Cultivation of black corn is not pretentious
  • Estimated economic effect reaches 200-250 thous.lei/ha
  • This colorant is an unique product which maintains the properties in any environmet
  • Our natural product is superiour to artificial colorants!

Current stage of development - The technology has passed all the stages of technology transfer in business

Where was applied - SA „Vitanta”, SA „Bucuria”, SA „Carmez”, SA „Franzeluta”, etc.

Desired collaboration - Production of red colorant according to the implementation permission and commercialization of final product.
